Have you ever wondered what the
fate of a bulb detached from a lamp holder would be?
I have. The word is ‘useless.’ The same bulb which illuminates it’s surrounding loses its ability to do so.
Christians are the light of the world. No doubt about that. But without Christ our holder, we are useless.
Some people think they can survive on their own. They seem to forget that without Christ, nothing is possible.
It is common knowledge that the moon acquires it illumination from the sun. Yes it was created to gives us light. But without the sun, it’s just another appendix in the sky.
Without the sun, the moon is not. Likewise, without God, you are not. God is not a football team to be relegated to the background.
Sister, without your parents, you are not. Even Jesus Christ had parents who guided his steps for 30 years. Appreciate them no matter the situation because, they are your ‘lamp holder’.
The Pharmacist, Accountant, Doctor, Biochemist, Economist (to be) that you are today, was because that teacher used your uniform as a carbon paper to duplicate the shape of his cane. Now you’re earning more than he does.
Thomas Edison would have created something useless after his countless attempts had there been no lamp holder.
There’s a saying ‘abodwes3 b3to anint)n nwin’ (the beard came to meet the eye brows). You might be great, significant, prominent popular and all but you cannot be wiser than God. You cannot be older than your parents, no matter how big you become.
No matter where you go- what do, what you become, why you became- there’s always a ‘how’ you became and who helped you become to answer.
Be appreciative. Because without them you are nothing. Without the lamp holder, the lamp is another useless artifact.
